Sprout Ba’Bayit – Virtual Programming

Welcome to Sprout Ba’Bayit – Virtual programming provided by Camp Sprout Lake!

Sprout Ba’Bayit  is geared towards campers in 2nd-8th grade and is open to anyone, even campers who were not registered for Sprout Lake this summer.

This program will provide FREE, weekly live classes for your children, taught by your favorite Sprout Lake staff members and Alumni! Click the dropdowns below to see all of the different week-long activities to choose from!

Week 1 - 6/29-7/3

8:45-9 Mifkad Raise the Israeli and American flags every day and do a short activity

9-945 – Fitness/Movement (all ages) Each day of the week we will host a different class to get your body moving! We will have fitness, yoga, creative movement, and other sports skills. Materials Needed – Yoga Mat

10-10:45 –Ceramics (Grades 2-5)

Using air-dry clay, learn how to model your clay into something truly amazing!  You will work with our Sprout Lake ceramics specialist, Sara, to mold your beautiful art.

10-10:45 – Cooking (Grades 6-8)

Join Lisa to learn how to cook!  This class will focus on nutritious meals and snacks, including vegan dishes!

11-11:45 –Rikkud/Dance/Hip Hop (All Ages)- Join Anna and Nikki for (Rikkud) Israeli Dance and Hip Hop Dance.  Learn some new moves and practice the dances you have loved from camp.  For new campers this is a great opportunity to learn the traditional camp dances!

11-11:45 Newspaper (all ages)

Just like the Sprout Newspaper Elective!  Our campers will put together a newspaper full of interesting articles, interviews, opinions, and comics.  Perfect for your budding journalist.

11-11:45 Podcasting (all ages)

Join Shai Korman, a Sprout Lake alum to create your own podcasting shows! Each day Shai will lead a workshop and participants will work together to create their own podcasts!

Week 2 -7/6-7/10

8:45-9 Mifkad Raise the Israeli and American flags every day and do a short activity

9-945 – Fitness/Movement (all ages) Each day of the week we will host a different class to get your body moving! We will have fitness, yoga, creative movement, and other sports skills.

10-10:45 Sewing (Grades 6-8) – Grab your needle and thread and join Yifat, our Rosh Omanut (head of art) to create a special pillow with a pocket.  This pocket is for small items like books, flashlight, etc. This is fun project that you can bring with you to camp next summer!

 

10-10:45 – Cooking (Grades 2-5) Join Liora our famous Sprout Lake cooking specialist to spend the week preparing an entire Shabbat dinner from start to finish!  By Shabbat you will be ready to cook for the whole family!

11-11:45 – Tour of Israel! (all ages). Join Adam, our Israeli corresponded in Israel!  Each day Adam will take us on a tour of a famous site in Israel, and then he will answer questions!

 

11-11:45 – Podcasting (all ages) Join Shai Korman, a Sprout Lake alum to create your own podcasting shows! Each day Shai will lead a workshop and participants will work together to create their own podcasts!

Week 3 – 7/13-7/17

10-10:45 Collaging (All ages) Make an artistic composition made of various materials (such as paper, cloth, or wood) glued on a surface!  Our amazing Sydney will be leading this class.

 

10-10:45 Mad Science (All ages):  Join Antonia to learn about science through our interactive and hands-on science activities!

11-11:45 Parsha Players (All ages) Join Ira and Sarah to spend the week creating the most perfect, hilarious, Parsha Players skit for the week.  The skit will be filmed and sent out for all to see on Friday July 17th!

 

11-11:45 – Hebrew for Beginners (All Ages) – Our wonderful Hebrew teacher Karen will be working with any campers who want to learn a little Hebrew.  This class caters to kids who know the alphabet but want to learn basic Hebrew.  This is for beginners.
Week 4 – 7/20-7/24

8:45-9 Mifkad Raise the Israeli and American flags every day and do a short activity

9-945 – Fitness/Movement (all ages) Each day of the week we will host a different class to get your body moving! We will have fitness, yoga, creative movement, and other sports skills.

10-10:45 – Watercolor Desserts (All ages) Join Anya to create beautiful water color paintings of different desserts. Create beautiful and delicious looking ice cream cones, cookies, and cakes.
10-10:45 – MADIMOW – Social Action Project (All Ages)Spend the week with Allie and Kira discussing important topics related to Tikkud Olam (repairing the world) and Social Justice. This will be interactive, and the kids will create a project.

 

10-10:45 – Origami – Our wonderful Noa will be leading Origami! Origami is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture.

 

11-11:45 Newspaper (all ages)
