About

Welcome to Young Judaea Sprout Lake!

CYJ Sprout Lake is located in the majestic Hudson Valley of New York on 86 acres. For over 45 years, we have been known for excelling in creating a safe space for children through our dedication to their emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. We inspire Jewish children to live their best lives, connect to Israel and the Jewish people, and to make a difference in the world. Our intimate camp size (maximum 225 campers per session), fun, innovative and inclusive programming, and state of the art sports sets us apart.

Camp Young Judaea Sprout Lake is not affiliated with any Jewish denominations, our families span all backgrounds and affiliations of Judaism.  We believe that CYJ Sprout Lake is a place for all Jewish children to come together, live together, have fun and create a community of inspiration and acceptance.

We invite and welcome campers who can be successful in a group living environment. We strive to understand the needs of every camper and work hard to ensure that campers of varying abilities are given every opportunity to participate and thrive in a supportive environment while promoting fun, learning, and new experiences. The principle of kol yisrael arevim zeh lazeh (all of Israel is responsible for one another) guides us as we strive to include a place for each individual camper to succeed at camp. Our program, and our commitment to serving children with a range of needs, continues to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our community.

CYJ Sprout Lake’s Mission Statement:

The Young Judaea Sprout Camps are a pluralistic community aimed at inspiring Jewish Identity, a connection to the State of Israel and a deep sense of Jewish peoplehood. Campers experience an extraordinary summer in a warm and supportive community that encourages individual growth, creates lasting friendships, a commitment to Tikun Olam and develops leadership skills. Young Judaea Sprout Camps is the summer expression of Young Judaea, the Zionist Youth Movement.

COVID-19 Statement

The health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority.  We have worked over the last year to develop new protocols and procedures to ensure our campers and staff members return to a safe camp. For Summer 2023, all age eligible summer campers, staff and invited guests must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as defined by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This includes boosters as indicated. Our safety plan is made under the guidance of the Center for Disease Control, the New York State Board of Health guidelines and recommendations and the American Camp Association.
