Jewish Life and Israel

At Sprout Westchester, campers come from many different Jewish backgrounds, and our program ensures everyone feels at home. Judaism here is joyful, inclusive, and experiential woven naturally into camp life through arts, music, Hebrew, stories, games, and community moments. 

We also nurture a strong connection to Israel. Our Israeli counselors bring their culture, stories, and energy to camp, allowing campers to experience Israel not just as a place, but through people and friendships. 

Swimming

Our swimming program is about more than just splashing in the pool; it’s about building confidence, skills, and self-esteem. Campers receive American Red Cross instruction from certified lifeguards and enjoy daily recreational swim time. For many campers, the pool is where “I’m scared of the water” turns into “Look at me—I can swim!” 

Sports

Every sport at Sprout Westchester is led by a trained specialist who ensures that every camper feels like a champion. Campers rotate through both team sports (gaga, basketball, kickball, volleyball) and individual challenges (archery, ropes, yoga, movement). Our goal is that each child discovers healthy, fun ways to move their body, build skills, and grow their confidence. 

The Arts

Campers dive into creativity through pottery, painting, beading, sewing, and Jewish-themed projects. Our arts program gives every camper a chance to explore their imagination, express themselves, and take-home creations they’re proud of. 

Performing Arts

Music and movement are at the heart of our camp spirit. Campers explore Israeli dance (Rikkud), Israeli songs (Shira), drama, improvisation, and performance. Whether they’re on stage or dancing with friends, performing arts at Sprout Westchester are all about self-expression, joy, and community energy. 

Gardening & Nature

Our organic garden is a hands-on classroom where campers plant, tend, and harvest vegetables, then turn them into tasty snacks. Campers also enjoy easy hiking trails overlooking the beautiful Croton Reservoir, where they learn about the environment and discover the wonder of nature just beyond camp.
