Say Cheese! Tips for Taking Better Photos, Sunday, Oct. 15, 5 – 6:15 p.m.

Join professional photographer Geraldine Bien as she provides tips on composition, lighting, color, and more. Learn how to captivate your audience, even when they are your own kids. Children will make a craft, while parents get some instruction, then your chance to capture memories using your own children as models. Just in time for a knock out Hannukah holiday card!

Please bring a camera or phone to use during the photo session.

Cost: $25/family, minimum 4 families, maximum 7 families

Family Yoga, Sunday, November 19, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Celebrate family time while exploring basic yoga poses with an emphasis on supporting each other. No experience necessary. Kristy Cohen, camp parent and certified yoga instructor, will teach the class. For ages 3 and up! Participate in our tikkun olam (repair the world) drive and bring a canned good to be donated to a local food pantry.

Cost: $20/family, minimum 3 families.

Starry Night & S’Mores, Saturday, December 2, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

For past and future campers

Learn about the winter night sky and the constellation Orion from local expert Daniel Cummings. Make s’mores and have fun with new and old friends. Early Hannukah celebration and fun for the entire family!

Sprout Westchester, a Young Judaea Day Camp, is a place where Jewish children join together to create a diverse, joyful community based on fun, Jewish values, friendship, personal growth, and tikkun olam (repairing the world). Sprout Westchester provides campers with an inclusive and supportive community, an opportunity to grow and a place to develop a connection to Israel.

Sprout Westchester is a day camp affiliated with Camp Young Judaea Sprout Lake open to campers entering Pre-K through 6th grade.

Camp Young Judaea Sprout Lake has been a residential camp for over 40 years in the Hudson Valley. Three years ago we added our urban day camp in Brooklyn, NY. We are finishing up our second full summer and are eagerly awaiting 2018!!
